Zhangye Danxia Geopark, China

Zhangye Danxia Geopark is located in the city of Zhangye, in Gansu, China. It spreads about 322 square kilometers. Its old name was Quasi-National Geopark in 2012. In 2016, it was named as Zhangye Danxia Geopark.  It is famous because of its colorful rocks. Colorful rocks increase the beauty of this place.


 These colorful rocks are the reason for its popularity. The colorful rocks are "Rainbow Mountains". It is situated in the counties of Linze and Sunan. It is the most visited area. The rocks are sharp, smooth, and several hundred meters tall. It is the most beautiful Danxia landform area in China. 


It is counted in "Six most beautiful landforms" in China. It is considered in the top tourist attraction for Zhangye. It is an example of mixing the rainbow and rocks.
